Web sites for primary care general practice

Patient interaction

The changing environment in which GP practices are now operating makes it more important than ever that they keep in touch with patients and gather feedback which will help them plan resource allocation. The Internet offers a great opportunity for GP practices to allow those patients who want it, direct access to services. Once you have a web site up and running, the next step is to consider how you might use it to interact with patients.

Free interactive tools

We have a set of interactive tools which we can plug into your web site to allow your patients to communicate with you directly. These tools have been developed at the request of our existing clients and are ready to be plugged into your website as you require them. We can also help you provide access from your web site to other online services such as the Emiss-access appointment system.

Currently we have the following web interactive forms ready for inclusion on your web site. Each comes as a free optional extra with full database backup as part of your subscription to our package. You can add any of them to your site when we set it up or include them later once your site is up and running.

  • repeat prescription order form
  • online appointments
  • new patient registration
  • appointment cancellation
  • change of address
  • travel immunisation request

Future developments

As part of our mission to continue exploring ways in which primary care providers can exploit the possibilities offered by the Internet, we are currently conducting feasibility tests on online patient satisfaction surveys and an online recall system for the management of patients with long term conditions.

We are also keen to talk to any of our clients who might have other innovative ideas for ways in which the Internet can help practices give patients greater direct access to services or generally improve the patient experience.
