111 Telephone Service

The new 111 telephone service has been launched in some parts of the country but not yet in Rutland so the number you need to call for general health advice is still NHS Direct 0845 46 47 (nhsdirect.nhs.uk). If you call Empingham Medical Centre when the surgery is closed your call will still automatically be transferred to the Out of Hours Doctor service.

The Patient Participation and Reference Group (PPRG) was set up a year ago to provide a forum for Patients, GPs and other practice staff to exchange information and ideas.

The next meeting is Tuesday 21st May 2013 at 7pm.

The Group is keen to involve a wider representation of the practice population in particular younger people, parents/carers of young children, those with disabilities and from all ethnic backgrounds. If you would like to join the group you can do so online by following this link or by clicking on the banner above.

Medical students

Empingham Medical Centre is involved in teaching medical students from Leicester Medical School. We are pleased to welcome the students who will be training and consulting under the supervision and guidance of one of the Partners.

Patients will be informed when making their appointment if the student will be with the doctor that day. Please let Patient Services know if you would prefer to see the Doctor alone.
