Prescription charges

• Standard prescription charge per item - £7.65
• Pre-payment certificates are available if you have many prescription items and are available from the Dispensary and all local chemists.
• The cost for a 3 month pre-payment is £29.10, this saves you money if you need 4 or more items in a 3 month period
• a 12 month pre-payment is £104.00 and saves money if more than 15 items are needed in a 12 month period
• Prescriptions are free for some patients (click here for details to see who is exempt)

Please also note if you are exempt from prescription charges, proof of entitlement will be asked for when you sign your prescription form. Please bring your proof each time you collect a prescription

Who can use the Dispensary?

Stowhealth Dispensary is able to dispense to all patients who live more than one mile from a registered Pharmacy.

We are able to offer a fast, efficient dispensing service with computer links from the G.Ps surgery, enabling your medicine to be ready when you collect from the dispensary.

The Dispensary is open from 8.30am til 6.30pm including the lunch hour 1.00pm till 2.00pm to collect repeat prescriptions.
