- People have to repeat things for you several times before you understand what they say
- You have difficulty understanding what is being said in noisy places, such as pubs or restaurants, although
other people are managing to have conversations
- If you are talking to people in a group, it is hard to keep up with the conversation
- You find it tiring to listen to conversations because you have to concentrate hard
- Other people think your television or music is too loud but you cannot hear it properly if they turn it down
- You often have difficulty hearing on the telephone.

If any of these do sound familiar, it is possible that you have a hearing loss.
If you are concerned that your hearing has deteriorated, visit your GP to have your ears examined.
