Out-of-Hours & Emergencies
For life threatening emergencies please ring 999. This could include:
- severe chest pain
- difficulty in breathing
- loss of consciousness
- severe loss of blood
- severe burns and scalds
- severe allergic reactions
Otherwise please ring our emergency line on 01986 892713 . The surgery switchboard is manned for urgent calls from Monday - Friday 8.00 am to 6.30 pm. Please be prepared to give brief details of the problem to the receptionist so that you can be given appropriate priority.
For patients living in or visiting the Great Yarmouth and Waveney areas there is a new telephone number to call if you need medical help fast (but it's not a 999 emergency).
Call 111 and you will get through to a team of highly trained advisers who are supported by experienced nurses. They will assess you, provide advice and direct you straight away to the local service that can help you best. Callers facing an emergency will have an ambulance despatched without delay.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and calls are free, including from mobiles. This sevice, once rolled out nationally, will replace NHS Direct's telephone service.
