Nurse clinics

The Practice Nurses (in association with the Doctors) offer the following clinics.

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 12.30pm
Monday – Friday 2.00pm – 6.00pm

Diabetic clinic

All diabetics should attend this clinic at least once a year for a check up with the nurse, especially if they do not attend the diabetic clinic at the hospital.

Coronary heart disease

All patients with coronary heart disease are encouraged to see a nurse at least once a year for a complete review.

Asthma - CPOD

All patients with Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease see a nurse to monitor symptoms and inhaler technique to achieve optimum control at least once a year, more often if necessary.

Well man - well woman

A three yearly general health check with a view to providing better health and lifestyle - including a smear test for women if necessary.


In addition to seeing their own doctor, all hypertensive patients are encouraged to see a nurse at least once a year for a complete review.

Menopuse and HRT

A one-off check and discussion of menopausal problems and advice.

An annual check with a nurse for those on HRT.  For continuing therapy patients are reviewed every six months, alternating with a nurse in the clinic and the doctor on a routine appointment.

Oral contraceptive check

A routine check for those taking the contraceptive pill carried out every year with a nurse.  Patients only need see the Doctor if there are problems.

Travel clinic

Advice is available on all aspects of healthy travel including basic immunisations.  Please complete the travel risk assessment form giving as much detail as possible and hand in to the surgery as soon as possible.  The nurse will check and assess the details and contact you to organise the necessary treatment.

Please be advised that if your travel needs are complicated, i.e. need for yellow fever vaccination, visiting multiple counties or long periods of travel you may be advised to contact either the Masta Travel Clinic in Cambridge on 01223 313969 or the Cambridge Travel Clinic on 01223 367362

Within 2 weeks of receipt of completed form you will be contacted by a Practice Nurse to discuss your travel requirements.

Smoking cessation

We can offer initial one to one consultations to help you stop smoking with follow up consultations to support your efforts. Please telephone to book an appointment.
